Being a farmers daughter I was brought up with the competitive spirit as showing livestock was a regular event in my family life. I saw my first Rhodesian Ridgeback in the 1960’s and fell in love with the breed. My second RR was a male who I bought from the Ridinghill’s Kennels and handled him through to his championship title. This male and two bitches were the foundation of the Gunthwaite Kennels and I have now been in the breed for over 40 years. I have bred many champions both here in the UK and abroad and one of the most memorable was to breed the first liver nose champion to be bred in the UK to-date. Also my Ch Gunthwaite Action Man is the sire to the first Multi champion to be bred in the UK.

I have been awarding challenge certificates in Rhodesian Ridgebacks since 1988. I have also been judging all other Hound breeds, the Hound Group and Best in Show at Open Show level for over 30 years.
